College Comparison

For my college comparison research I chose Harcum College and Drexel University. Harcum is a two year college so they will accept my GED and I will be able to enroll as opposed to Drexel. I will have to complete 2 years of college before I am eligible enroll into Drexel. Harcum also has more people like me, with 48% of students that share the same racial background. I also found that it is cheaper to attend Harcum. Compared to the $53,255 I would have to pay to attend Drexel and live on campus, Harcum only wants $18,920. Of the1,099 students at Harcum receive some form of financial aid with 92%, 52% of the 2,346 students at Drexel receive it.

In order to be eligible to enroll into either school I will need a completed application form, a personal essay, SAT scores. In addition I will need $75 application fee for Drexel and $50 application fee for Harcum. I also will need my GED transcript for Harcum. Out of the students who apply for Drexel, 55% are admitted to attend, and at Harcum 46% are admitted.

After doing the research I learned that I will fit best at Harcum College. I Feel as though they will help me more on my journey of knowledge. I will be able to walk on and try out for the basketball team. Harcum has a smaller environment, I am not ready for the BIG campus like at the Universities yet but one day I will be. Harcum is right for me now, but my feeling might change and I might want to attend Drexel in 2 years, I might be ready then.
